GROW Conference 2017

Church members, Chris Simons and John Weeks, of the Ferntree Gully Seventh-day Adventist Church, attended the GROW Conference – For Elders and Local Church Leaders, on July 28-30, 2017, at Howqua, Victoria. The conference was organised by the Victoria Conference, Ministerial Association Department..

The keynote speaker was Dr Emilio Abdala, who is the Director for Evangelism and Global Mission for the Central Brazil Union. Across the weekend Emilio Abdala presented the following topics :

. Our Purpose – Mission of the Church
. Friendship Evangelism
. How to Evangelise Secular People
. Church Planting in a Secular, pluralistic Society
. Ministries in a Highly Secular Environment.

There were 3 workshops presented :
. ‘Joining God in His Work – the Life-giving Principles of NCD (Natural Church Development)’
. ‘Why Youth Matter’
. ‘Maximising Ministry Effectiveness Through Technology’

The GROW Conference was attended by 140 participants.
